Twelve Celtic pics at Christmas – 3rd January

Over the last 15 years, there can be little doubt that the biggest name on the Celtic team sheet has been Henrik Larsson. His record of 242 goals in 312 appearances puts him well up on the list of top Celtic goal-scorers.

In this shot, he is being congratulated for scoring one of those goals by team-mate Tommy Johnson.

But I must end this little series with an action shot of the man voted by the Celtic support as the ‘Greatest-Ever Celt’. This was taken at Celtic Park in April 1967, when Celtic played Dukla Prague in the semi-final, first leg, of the European Cup. Just look at the packed terracings!

Jimmy Johnstone was on the receiving end of some terrible treatment during his career and this high challenge by a Dukla defender was fairly typical of what the Wee Man had to put up with on a regular basis. Fortunately, the little genius came out on top more often than not, as in this match .

That marks the end of this little series and I sincerely hope that you have all enjoyed it. Could I take this opportunity to wish all a very Happy New Year and hope that in 2014, you get everything you could possibly ask for.

God Bless,

Jim Craig
