I phoned Tam Gemmell this morning to wish him Many Happy Returns, as it was the 46th anniversary of the win in Lisbon.
I happen to mention that I had heard that Willie Wallace was coming over; Tam said that he had also heard that but did not think he was coming until the end of June.
After the call, Elisabeth and headed for Gleneagles Station, from where we would catch the train to Glasgow, as we had a lunch date, then a meeting with son, daughter-in-law and grandson.
The train stopped to pick up passengers at Dunblane, Bridge of Allan and Stirling and just when I was looking out the window as the locomotive rumbled into Stirling Station, who do I see waiting on the platform? None other than Willie Wallace! How’s that for a coincidence!
