*Update: first article on the Coronation Cup can now be expected on the 9th – apologies for the delay folks*
Dear Bhoys and Ghirls,
our club, the Jim Craig Celtic Supporters Club, was originally formed in 2000 under the name Belfast Shamrock CSC and in 2011 was renamed in tribute of our honorary president and Lisbon Lion, Jim Craig. Jim has been involved with our club since it’s inception. However, not content with merely being a figurehead at the club, Jim is arguably the most active contributor to the club. This is particularly noticeable with his regular blog postings on this website.
These are regularly publicised via our twitter feed (http://twitter.com/jim_craig_csc) and Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jim-Craig-Celtic-Supporters-Club/203725579717323).
Jim pens his blog entries every 4 days but he is planning something special for the anniversaries of the famous Celtic victories in both the Coronation Cup and Empire Exhibition Trophy (60th and 75th anniversaries respectively).
Jim intends to write a piece daily between May 4th and May 21st, retelling the story of the winning of the Coronation Cup. He then intends to follow this up with another daily piece covering the clinching of the Empire Exhibition Trophy.
For those of you who are familiar with Jim’s blog you will already be looking forward to his retelling of these landmark occasions in our Club’s history. However we would like to raise awareness amongst the support of Jim’s up and coming blog-a-thon. His work is always incredibly well-written, engaging and laced with plenty of Jim’s exceptional humour. He is a story-teller supreme and every Celtic fan will enjoy his work.
To that end, we are looking to publicise Jim’s up-and-coming work far and wide across the Celtic family. We hope that you will be able to put a notice in your own club bulletins, emails, twitter feeds and facebook pages – directing your members and followers towards the blog.
It is not often that the support have such regular access to the thoughts of a Lisbon Lion. In the Jim Craig CSC we are lucky enough to have such ready access to a wealth of Celtic history. It would be remiss of us not to sure the joy. We hope you enjoy the next couple of months reading Jim’s stories as much as we do.
Yours in Celtic,
the Jim Craig Celtic Supporter’s Club.
