24th September 1994 Celtic 2 Hibs 0

Towards the end of September in 1994, manager Tommy Burns must have been a reasonably happy man. In his first season in charge, his side had won three and drawn two of the first five league matches with Andy Walker, only recently back from Bolton, scoring two of the goals.
Midfielder Paul McStay, in his 12th season for the club, was another with two, while centre-half Tony Mowbray plus midfielders Pat McGinley and Phil O’Donnell also made the goal-scoring charts.
John Collins, too, had made the list and on this day in 1994, in front of a crowd of 28,170 at Parkhead and against his former club Hibs, he scored Celtic’s second goal in 53 minutes to give Celtic a 2-0 victory.
A good win…on a memorable day for the scorer…..it was John Collins’ 200th appearance for Celtic.
